Rekha Shanmugam is a media professional with a wealth of experience in journalism, digital publishing, and project management. She is currently working as a Digital Publishing Manager at AJ Plus, where she is honing her project management skills. She has a Master's degree in Journalism from the City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism, where she focused on NYC government and politics. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Media with a specialization in multimedia from the University of Madras. Rekha has bylines in over six publications, and has worked as a features writer, social media manager, copy editor, and correspondent in India. She has interned at Spectrum News NY1 and two other digital publications in New York.

In addition to her professional work, Rekha attended Townsville Primary School in Singapore and National Public School in Chennai, India. She also holds a master's degree in project management from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
