George Roberts
George Roberts is a renowned urban redevelopment and community philanthropy professional with a vast experience in redesigning, redeveloping, activating, managing, and creating new spaces. With working experience on projects across North America, George has become a force to reckon with in urban planning and design. Having worked with Biederman Redevelopment Ventures and Quicken Loans, George has been the brain behind the development of famous public spaces like Klyde Warren Park, Woodward Esplanade, and Downtown Detroit Bike Lane Network, among others.
George has a broad educational background having studied GREC, Real Estate Development at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business and BA, Urban and Metropolitan Studies at the University of Michigan. As a result, he has gained both practical and theoretical knowledge in urban planning and development.
Currently, George serves as the Managing Principal of Civic Companies, a company that focuses on urban planning and design. Previously, he worked as the Senior Director of Civic Development at Rock Ventures LLC and Director, Public Spaces at Quicken Loans. In addition to that, he was a Project Manager and Project Analyst at Biederman Redevelopment Ventures Corp. Previously, he also worked as a Financial Analysis intern at Full Spectrum of NY.
