Chen Chen is a rising star in the field of computer vision research, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the electrical engineering/computer vision program at the University of Southern California. With a solid academic foundation in electrical, electronics, and communications engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chen's expertise and research focus on scene image understanding. This includes a wide range of image processing techniques such as image classification and retrieval, image segmentation, object detection, scene layout reconstruction, depth estimation, 2D/3D conversion, and more. He is known for proposing innovative and efficient solutions, which has earned him several top conference papers. Chen's proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB has allowed him to develop several state-of-the-art solutions for computer vision challenges.
Aside from his academic pursuits, Chen has worked on several industrial projects and was a former software engineer at Facebook. He now holds a position as a research scientist at the social media giant. With such an impressive track record and solid combination of both academic and industrial experience, Chen is actively seeking internships in a related field for software development or research. With his expected graduation in summer 2016, he is excited to continue his career as a thought leader and innovator in computer vision research.
