Tyler LaHaie is an accomplished design leader with over two decades of experience and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. With an impressive background in diverse industries, Tyler's expertise lies in service-oriented design, building inclusive teams, and fostering psychologically safe environments for team members to thrive. Currently serving as the Director of UI & UX for the immensely popular game Fortnite at Epic Games, Tyler has played a pivotal role in expanding the Fortnite UX/UI team, transforming it from a department of 7 into a full-fledged team of 90+. Under Tyler's leadership, the team is responsible for delivering the holistic user experience for Fortnite, a game loved by millions worldwide and generating billions in revenue.

Prior to his role at Epic Games, Tyler held significant positions in prominent organizations. As the Senior UX Manager at Riot Games, he contributed to the success of the game League of Legends, becoming well-versed in the intricacies of game design and user experience. Tyler also honed his skills as the Design Lead for Mobile Shopping Innovations at Amazon, where he even secured two US patents for interactive design innovations on the Amazon mobile and tablet shopping experience.

Beyond gaming and e-commerce, Tyler's expertise extends to branding, marketing, and design strategy. He served as the Head of Design at FanBridge, where he focused on creating exceptional cross-platform fan experiences. Prior to that, he founded Zen Creative, a creative agency specializing in branding and design. Tyler also gained industry experience as a Designer at Keller Williams Realty Sunset and ISCI Communications.

With a colorful background, Tyler's journey to the design world started with his service as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Additionally, he has also excelled as an internationally acclaimed DJ/Producer of house music and holds a first Dahn Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Tyler currently resides in North Carolina with his husband Jack and their two golden retrievers, embodying the values of kindness, respect, teamwork, and fun in both his personal and professional life.
