Ahmed Kabil

Ahmed Kabil is an Egyptian-American writer, editor, and multimedia storyteller currently serving as the Managing Editor of Ideas at The Long Now Foundation in Barcelona. His work delves into the American counterculture of the 1960s and early 1970s, focusing on Northern California, Eastern spirituality, psychedelics, and the intersection of science and technology. With a background in media, technology, and networked arts, Ahmed has held roles such as Head of Video at Timeline, co-creator of GoPop (acquired by BuzzFeed), and Editor/Producer at Zeega. His innovative storytelling projects have anticipated trends in interactive/mobile/social storytelling, exhibited at prestigious institutions and recognized at events like Tribeca Film Institute, Harvard University, and SXSW. Ahmed is a metaLAB (at) Harvard Fellow, pursuing a Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of Cambridge, and a history graduate from Reed College.
