Mahtab Mirmomeni is a prominent technology leader, machine learning scientist, and strategist with notable achievements in the software industry. With a vast experience in leading large-scale projects and managing teams of software engineers and senior stakeholders, she has successfully delivered outcomes on budget and on time, and has also published her work in top journals. Mirmomeni's research focuses on machine learning and deep learning techniques on time series data, particularly in healthcare and remote patient monitoring. She has collaborated with Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard University on epilepsy seizure detection from wearable sensors. Currently in her last year of PhD studies at the University of Melbourne, her research work centers on the explainability of models trained on time series data, and she holds several US patents in wearable sensors for healthcare.

A strong advocate of diversity in STEM, Mirmomeni is also a STEM mentor appointed by the Australian Academy of Science and technology, and founder of the Women in Tech society at the University of Melbourne.
