Product Design Strategy

GE Oil & Gas is the world’s first Fullstream digital industrial oil and gas company, delivering integrated oilfield products, services and digital solutions. My current role is to lead and influence UX design for IntelliStream within our globally distributed team of 25 designers, 200+ engineers and product management team. IntelliStream is an enterprise software suite, built on GE’s Predix and APM (Asset Performance Management), that delivers a step change in upstream productivity across reservoir, wells, network, facilities and people. 

During my time at GE, I had the opportunity to:

-  Lead design strategy and vision for our enterprise SaaS product IntelliStream.
-  Responsible for the product design end-to-end and, working with Product Management, ensure design consistency that meets our customers’ needs.
-  Partner with product managers and other key stakeholders to identify user needs, define product strategy, and create roadmaps.
-  Drive identification of customer needs across IntelliStream, together with product and engineering counterparts, through user research, competitive analysis, and other means.
-  Create and lead a collaborative design process from conception to launch involving engineers, product managers, researchers, data scientists, and subject matter experts.
-  Create simple and elegant end-to-end solutions to address customer needs, including UX design, visual design, wireframing, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes and micro-interaction animations.

Lead UX Product Designer

Contract Senior UX Designer

Array Technology is a document intelligence company that primarily serves the financial and real estate industries. Array solves complex data and document management challenges for businesses that depend on access to information. As a UX Designer I was hired to lead the direction of design for the Array brand, as well as the design and front end development for the Array Cloud product. The goal of my position was to take a very complex product and improve upon the usability to create a satisfying user experience within an Agile environment.

During my time at Array, I had the opportunity to:
-  Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and brand standards.
-  Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.
-  Execute all visual design stages from concept to the final hand-off to engineering.
-  Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.

Senior UX Designer

BigWing Interactive is a full-service digital marketing agency offering services and sales tools to assist customers with their digital needs. As a Lead Front End Web Designer my responsibilities covered receiving and reviewing customer brand/discovery documents, and then wireframing, prototyping, designing and developing the front end of custom websites. I also guided the creative direction of client projects, along with assisting in the development of a new starter theme for client sites. Part of my role as a Lead Designer was also to mentor Junior Designers within the Web Team.

The following were some of my accomplishments:
-  Introduced and educated the Web Team on SASS.
-  Helped design and develop Easy Updates Manager, an open source WordPress plugin with over 60k+ downloads to date.

Senior Design Technologist

As a Web Designer at Rehash my role included designing and developing client websites through their entire life cycle, providing customer support for web themes built by Rehash, advising clients on new features and building those into their current websites, researching and implementing new technologies as it relates to web design (typography, responsive design, mobile trends, retina displays, etc.), assisting with internal branding efforts, and continually updating Rehash’s website. At times I was tasked with creating a logo or branding which allowed me to utilize my branding and identity design skills.

As Director of Communications my main responsibility was to effectively communicate the mission and vision of Frontline Church to different demographics and geographies. My main responsibilities and tasks were as follows:

-  Web design/development, social media, video production, branding/print marketing.
-  Gathered content from all ministries at 3 different locations for weekly and monthly social media, web and print promotions.
-  Researched and planned development of a new website (via WordPress) that would facilitate multiple congregations and host resources for church attendees.

As a Web Designer and Front End Developer for the FAA I was hired to redesign the FAA internal website for the Oklahoma City district. The objective was to improve user experience and web functionality.

In this contract position I assisted the Senior Developer with building out their web application. This application was provided to clients to give them the ability to better market their products and enhance eCommerce visibility.
