Rick Skinner is a renowned healthcare IT executive with over 25 years of experience in the industry. With a wealth of knowledge in healthcare information systems, he has held several positions, including CIO of hospitals, independent consulting, and project management for the development and integration of the Department of Defense's global medical information system.

Before retiring, Rick enjoyed successful stints as SVP and Chief Technology Officer for Locus Health, a startup that focused on providing remote patient monitoring for adult and pediatric populations using Apple and AWS technologies. He also led the University of Virginia Health System as Chief Information and Technology Officer for five years.

Rick honed his expertise as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Cancer Care Ontario, the agency that manages cancer and other chronic diseases for the Province of Ontario. He was also a Director at Navigant Consulting, a global professional services firm specializing in healthcare and litigation support.

Rick's wealth of knowledge and experience spans throughout his career as he served as Vice President for First Consulting Group, led the Army's healthcare IT initiatives as a program manager, and in several Army CIO roles retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Rick is an accomplished author and frequent speaker and was awarded the John Gall Award for Healthcare CIO of the Year in 2002. He is a specialist in IT strategy and execution, clinical systems implementation and management, large scale infrastructure management, outsourcing (on and off-shore), and IT organization design and optimization.
