Lawrence Grown is an accomplished lighting fixture designer with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He is the founder and former owner of Metro Lighting, a Berkeley-based company that specializes in crafting custom lighting fixtures for a variety of projects, from single sconces to large-scale residential and commercial properties. Lawrence has studied architecture and enjoys working with the architectural community to bring unique concepts to life. He designs, sells, and builds his fixtures in his 100% solar-powered showroom and workshop in Berkeley, where he also utilizes locally blown, cast, and kiln-formed glass to create artisan patinas or electroplating on solid brass, copper, and steel components. Lawrence is also a former executive director of the West Berkeley Design Loop, founder of Commotion West Berkeley, and a managing editor of Berkeley-Built.
