Nicole Yi Messier is a seasoned lead creative technologist, developer, interaction designer, and adjunct professor. Her background spans a range of disciplines, from design and technology to mechanical and aerospace engineering. With an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design and a BS in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from The George Washington University, Nicole has honed her skills in creating large-scale, multi-year interactive installations, developing and prototyping native/web applications, simulations, visualizations, VR/AR, computer vision, physical computing, and bespoke software using C++, OpenGL, glsl, Unity, and modern web frameworks.

Nicole's portfolio includes impressive interactive installations like speech-to-text recording booths, large-scale touch walls, interactive projection systems, and hardware tracking systems. She has collaborated with a diverse range of clients and organizations, including HUSH, Local Projects, gadgITERATION, Harvestworks International Art Collective, NASA SpaceApps Challenge, and the Tangible Embedded and Embodied Interaction Conference. In addition to her professional experience, she also teaches design and coding at Parsons and has launched an eTextile product line called Blink Blink.
