Karl Loo is an accomplished tech entrepreneur with extensive global experience in establishing, operating, and optimizing internet businesses. He has a background in Information Technology Law and previously worked as a corporate lawyer before moving to Southeast Asia to tackle real-world problems in the region. Karl is driven by a passion for purpose-driven tech solutions that can improve the economic state of developing economies. He studied at top universities like the University of Oxford and the University of Auckland, where he majored in Information Systems, Company Law, Intellectual Property, and Family Law. Additionally, Karl participated in the Naspers Executive Programme at Harvard Business School and studied Mandarin Chinese at Fudan University.
Karl has served in several leadership positions throughout his career. He founded ServisHero, an on-demand services platform, and was the VP of Strategy and Operations at Memebox Corporation. He also co-founded MyLuxBox, was the Regional Director for Groupon in China, and served as a Solicitor for Vodafone New Zealand and Simpson Grierson. Furthermore, Karl was a founding partner at the Africa Internet Accelerator, which was acquired by Naspers JSE:NPN.
