John (Jahyoung) Koo, a Ph.D. graduate in Computer Science from Yonsei University, brings 15 years of mobile phone software development experience to his role as CEO at Loplat, the foot traffic data platform. Koo is a former Chief Research Engineer at LG Electronics and a former Software Research Engineer at LG CNS. He focused his Ph.D. research on building WiFi Access Point Maps, which use crowdsourced data without requesting users' interaction. He aimed to achieve the pervasiveness of WiFi positioning systems and is interested in location-based services on smartphones. At Loplat, Koo leads the development of accurate foot traffic data gathering technologies and infrastructure with digitalization of offline information.
