CoachMePlus builds high performance software systems which allow large professional and NCAA sports teams to manage and track the performance of their athletes. Our software is implemented within multiple NFL, NHL, MLB, and NCAA sports franchises/organizations.

CoachMePlus allows coaches to spend more time with their athletes and less time with a spreadsheet. With the ability to integrate with various industry leading devices, build programs, and generate reports instantaneously, coaches and staff quickly uncover performance trends to evaluate game day readiness. 

As Vice President of Technology, my role is in planning and implementing the technology needed by the organization as well as working with the management team in setting the strategic goals and initiatives for the organization.

With a background in building web applications, and consulting with businesses and developing their online initiatives, my experience enables me to architect software solutions utilizing best-practices, as well as tried and tested strategies.

The online registry for the things you own and the things you're looking to acquire. Collectors Proof is an online community of memorabilia enthusiasts that utilizes a visible registry of items and their past and current owners to support authenticity. Its members enjoy having their own free online galleries and appreciate the value-preserving benefits of making their items' chains-of-custody available to any Internet-enabled computer or mobile device. Its patent-pending, innovative approach to authenticity preservation represents an important step forward for the counterfeit-saturated memorabilia industry.

As EVP of Technology, I oversaw the architecture and implementation of the platform, utilizing best of breed open source technologies including AWS, LAMP, NGINX, Solr/Lucene, Symfony, jQuery, Titanium Appcelerator, and more. I also provided guidance on strategy and together we developed our patent-pending item authenticity and provenance methodology. I also managed our team of 5 developers utilizing SCRUM and agile principles to deliver new features in a tested and responsive manner reflective of new insights gained from customer feedback.

I originally helped co-found the Buffalo Lab, a makerspace in 2009. I took over as Director in 2012 and guided the growth of the lab to over 50 active dues-paying members. In 2012 we added formal programming, including workshops, classes and social events. I oversee the vision of the makerspace and focus on long term initiatives including our recent addition to The Foundry, a property that is being developed to provide space for artists, businesses and social entrepreneurs. We hope to establish a full-spectrum shared collaborative workspace by providing the tools, equipment and community needed to learn, create, develop and share new ideas.

MidnightBox.com is a daily deal retail website. It featured a gamified product reveal with special pricing, and a regular Mystery Box product.

I was responsible for the technology supporting the web presence of the business as well as the office and operations infrastructure. This included the development of the server architecture, the web application, an order management system, billing and sales support systems, fulfillment and shipping integration, and inventory control.

I was also part of the team responsible for community relations, including managing the discussion boards for the community as well as producing and hosting a live video show to engage the community and demonstrate the products available each night.

As an early player in the Deal of the Day space, Midnightbox.com quickly gained share and membership, and traffic grew to tens of thousands of unique visitors nightly. MidnightBox.com continued to be a successful player in the daily deal space for several years after a favorable exit from my partnership with the company.

Director of technology and partner of the Buffalo arm of STUDIO, LLC, an advertising-agency consultancy business brand. M2Synergies also serves as the launchpad of over 11 years of business development initiatives originating in software and technology.

My role over the years has grown from being a backend developer to a team lead of 10 developers, as well as providing systems architecture, technology focused sales support, business consulting and project management. We have worked side-by-side with STUDIO, LLC in handling several larger development projects that required back-end PHP, Ruby, as well as Flash, Javascript and other technology support.

I was personally responsible for PHP, HTML/CSS, and Flash development for banners ads, mini sites and software for brands such as Calvin Klein, ESPN, TBS, NHL, WWE and more. I also independently developed an MVC style framework in PHP4 that was utilized for a learning management system in a pre-operative setting, as well as several other projects. I later headed up the architecture and oversaw the implementation of a full-stack CMS framework for general purpose use as a platform product to support the needs of clients.

I have also consulted with several startups from the technology and online business development side of the relationship.

M2Synergies, Inc

I co-founded this hosting company from my dorm room in 2000. I was responsible for the architecture, systems and software needed to run the business. We quickly grew to hundreds of clients utilizing shared and dedicated servers. Initially offering Windows service, migrating to FreeBSD and later Linux, we were among the first customers of the Plesk shared hosting platform. We also utilized and customized the PHP based Modernbill platform, to which we were awarded a perpetual license for providing many patches and support back to the software. This allowed us to scale by offering self sign-up directly on the site. Given the rapid changes in the market in the following years, and stiff competition from large shared hosting providers, we stopped offering shared hosting to new customers and focused only on providing hosting to white-labeled freelancers and consultants. Later, we partnered with another provider to handle maintenance of client systems and eventually sold the business to the partner.
