Ian McDermott is a renowned thought leader, mentor, and author with a global perspective on leadership, innovation, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and risk. With over 30 years of experience in mentoring leaders, Ian has trained a generation of coaches and pioneered Leadership and Innovation Coaching. He is an Honorary Fellow of Exeter University Business School, External Faculty at Henley Business School, and Dean of Innovation & Learning for the Purposeful Planning Institute. He is also a member of the Association for Coaching's Global Advisory Panel and AC Global Ambassador for Innovation and Collaboration. His work is featured in the Open University’s MBA course ‘Creativity, Innovation and Change’. He accepted the position of Professor of Practice at SOAS University of London. His primary focus is on delivering practical ‘how-tos’ grounded in sound neuroscience to ensure that learning in leadership, change, and innovation really happen.
