Christopher Bergin is a seasoned environmental science and environmental health science expert with 29 years of experience working across various governmental and private roles. After years of honing his craft, Bergin now leads a team of brilliant engineers, planners, and surveyors at WSP, conceptualizing, designing, assessing, managing and building excellent infrastructure from bridges to buildings, roads to water supplies.
Aside from his professional experience, Bergin holds several qualifications, including a diploma in drinking water assessment from Otago Polytechnic, a diploma in environmental health, environmental health from the Wellington Polytechnic, and a bachelor's degree in applied science, environmental health from Massey University.
As Business Manager - West Coast at WSP in New Zealand, Bergin flexes his brain on business and commercial decisions, works with clients in a business development space, and shifts into his technical specialty in drinking water safety & quality, and contaminated land. His extensive knowledge in these areas has seen him formerly hold roles such as Acting Business Manager - West Coast and Projects Work Group Manager at Opus International Consultants Ltd, Drinking Water Assessor at Canterbury District Health Board, and Environmental Health Officer at Grey District Council.
