Ion Hauer

Ion Hauer is a Principal at APEX Ventures, specializing in venture capital investments in European early-stage deep tech startups focusing on quantum technologies, future of computing, and AI.

With a background encompassing over 12 years in the tech and finance sectors, Ion holds a Ph.D. in quantum physics from Heidelberg University and has held key roles such as Chief Operating Officer at GlassDollar, VP Corporate Venturing at Bosch, and Management Consultant at Oliver Wyman. He has actively engaged in angel investing and mentoring startup ventures for an extended period.

Furthermore, Ion has a strong educational foundation with studies in Physics at The University of Queensland and obtaining a Diploma and Ph.D. in Physics from Heidelberg University.

Ion's professional journey includes past positions as a Startup Mentor at Scale-up.NRW, Strategic Advisor at GlassDollar, Founder and Managing Director at Hauer Ventures, Lecturer at Munich Business School, as well as holding roles at BSH Home Appliances Group and Heidelberg University.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Ion also has a zeal for technical and rescue diving. He resides in Munich, Germany, with his family.
