Shamim Hossain is a dedicated development professional with a wealth of experience in social development organizations and a strong passion for research and development.

Beginning his career in 2008 with BRAC's Research and Evaluation Division as a Researcher, Shamim has been involved in designing, implementing, and managing various research projects focusing on health issues like reproductive health, malaria, migration, urban poverty, street dwellers, and women empowerment for BRAC programs.

His expertise spans across both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, encompassing baseline studies, KAP studies, perception studies, as well as mid-term and final evaluations.

Throughout his tenure at BRAC, Shamim's responsibilities included conducting literature reviews, designing surveys, leading data collection and analysis teams, managing projects, writing project and research proposals, report composition, and delivery of presentations.

With a solid academic foundation in social science and public health, Shamim excels in critically analyzing diverse research topics and efficiently managing multiple projects across various sectors simultaneously.

His robust leadership and interpersonal skills have enabled him to successfully lead and supervise teams for research endeavors, ensuring adherence to timelines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Apart from his role at BRAC, Shamim has also held positions such as Manager at BRAC Urban Development Program, Program Manager (MEAL) at The Hunger Project, and Team Leader at Change Associates Limited.

Shamim Hossain holds a Master of Social Science (MSS) in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University, along with a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Reproductive and Child Health from American International University Bangladesh (AIUB).
