Raymond H. Thomas

Raymond H. Thomas is an experienced professor, project manager, researcher, and analytical chemist with a specialization in lipids and antioxidants. With a Ph.D. in Biology from The University of Western Ontario, Thomas has over 10 years of project management experience and six years of teaching experience at the college and university level. He has taught courses in Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physics, and more. As a project manager, Thomas has extensive experience in managing human resources and budgets, as well as developing integrated research programs and facilities.

As an analytical chemist, Thomas has over eight years of experience in analyzing lipids and antioxidants using various laboratory equipment, including Thin Layer Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detection (TLC-FID), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Flame Ionization Detection (GC-MS/FID), Liquid Chromatography-Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS), Column Chromatography, Autotitrimetry, Microscopy, and Spectrophotometry. Additionally, he has over eight years of research experience in determining the beneficial effects of lipids and antioxidants in response to environmental stress in various systems, such as food, health, plant disease, animal physiology, and neurobiology.

Throughout his career, Thomas has demonstrated exceptional skills in strategic planning, development and operations of integrated research programs and facilities, presentation, organizational, communication and analytical abilities, staff/student training and development, strategic partnership development, delivering results, sustained productivity, time and budget management, and science/technical writing.
