Principal Site Reliability Engineer

Responsible for a team of engineers that expand and support Blizzard's large private cloud built on OpenStack. My team creates the platform for infrastructure that all Blizzard teams interact with. Since our private cloud was built we've expanded our offering with new services like Kubernetes-as-a-service, software load balancing, auto-scaling, and even bare metal on demand. I help lead this team and give direction, advice, and technical designs to the engineers that report to me.

Blizzards admin team I have been supporting Blizzard's online games like World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2,Diablo 3. I worked closely with our architects and developers to phase in upgrades to existing game services and newgames.         Responsibilities    · Second tier trouble shooting for all Blizzard online games infrastructure.    · Administrated over 50,000 Linux networked systems worldwide.    · Compiled custom rpm packages for the configuration of Red Hat and CentOS systems.    · Configured and supported custom applications for required for running Blizzard's online services.    · Deploy services for infrastructure support such as, dhcp, dns, smtp, mysql, ldap, tftpboot, nfs, and Splunk    · Manage users and groups in a global ldap authentication.    · Worked with Programmers to deploy new applications to the site.    · Design monitoring for all services to provide alarms for failed services        Accomplishments    · Part of a team that deployed multiple remote sites in data centers around the world.    · Supported the worlds largest Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game ever (World of Warcraft).    · Mentored, trained, and helped grow younger systems administrators

Linux Systems Administrator

As a technician for Blizzard I worked in the NOC monitoring all of Blizzard's online games. As a technician I worked withthe Sysadmin to refine the monitoring software and alerting levels to make sure incidents were caught and properlyescalated.         Responsibilities    · Tier one, first response, monitoring for all Blizzard's online games infrastructure.    · Handle incidents and their management.    · Escalate issues and incidents to higher tiers of support or developers.    · Work with data center remote hands technicians to resolve issues.
