David Fonkalsrud is a renowned pediatric surgeon who has made remarkable contributions to the field of medicine in the United States. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He later went on to do his fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) where he remained as faculty for 22 years. During his tenure at UCSF, Fonkalsrud was the Director of Pediatric Surgery and is currently the Emeritus Professor.
