David DiGiusto

David DiGiusto, PhD, is a distinguished immunologist and stem cell biologist with extensive academic and industrial experience spanning over two decades.

He specializes in translational medicine, particularly focusing on blood cells as therapeutic agents, and is recognized as a prominent figure in the realms of cell and gene therapy.

With a noteworthy background in leading product development and manufacturing for numerous Phase I/II clinical trials, he has overseen the establishment and operation of multiple GMP compliant biologics manufacturing facilities.

His expertise encompasses process development, manufacturing, quality systems, and regulatory affairs infrastructure, demonstrating a profound understanding of the lifecycle of advanced therapy products.

Dr. DiGiusto has been instrumental in the development, production, and clinical application of diverse products such as plasmid DNA, CAR T-cells, regulatory T-cells, engineered stem cell grafts, and gene modified hematopoietic stem cell products.

Furthermore, he has held key positions in prestigious organizations, including serving as the Chief Technology Officer of Cell and Gene Therapy at Resilience and previously as the Senior Vice President of Cell & Gene Therapies Preclinical & Clinical Manufacturing at Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

Additionally, Dr. DiGiusto has contributed his expertise as the Chief Technical Officer at Semma Therapeutics, Executive Director of Stem Cell and Cellular Therapeutics Operations at Stanford Health Care, Instructor at Keck Graduate Institute, Research Professor in Virology at City of Hope, and in various scientific roles at Ribozyme Pharmaceuticals, Systemix, and National Jewish Health.

Having received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology and a BA in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Dr. DiGiusto has established himself as a leader in the field with a rich history of accomplishments and contributions.
