Joy Usner
Joy Usner is a seasoned professional in higher education, with over 10 years of experience in program development, student advising, leadership development, student philanthropy, and event planning. Currently serving as the Assistant Director for Young Alumni & Students at Miami University Alumni Association, Joy leads young alumni programs and advises the Miami University Student Foundation and Senior Class Gift program, in addition to chairing the Homecoming Committee for the university.
Joy obtained a Graduate Certificate in Interactive Media Studies and a Bachelor of Philosophy from Miami University, and a Master of Education with a concentration in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago. Before joining Miami University, she held various roles in student involvement, student organizations, admissions counseling, and as a public ally at Americorps.
Joy is passionate about connecting alumni, engaging the next generation of alumni leaders, and supporting young alumni getting involved in their local communities. Joy's programs have garnered wide recognition, and the Young Alumni Symposium, Young Alumni Reunion, and the 18 of the Last 9 Award have become cornerstone events for Miami University's alumni program.
