Fred Davis is an accomplished entrepreneur, technology pioneer, media professional, and public speaker with over 30 years of experience in the tech industry. He has been hailed as a technology visionary for pioneering and predicting many innovations and industry trends.
Fred was an instrumental part of the startup teams of two multi-billion dollar startups, CNET and Ask Jeeves (now Ask.com), where he helped acquire the initial funding for both companies. He was also a founding member of Wired magazine, winner of numerous publishing awards.
Fred is also an author, having written 14 books about computers and technology, including the first book on Desktop Publishing, and the award-winning Windows Bible series. He served as editor of several of the world’s leading computer publications, including PC Magazine, PC Week, A+, and MacUser, and ran all of the industry-leading product testing labs at those publications.
Currently, Fred is working with a number of startups and is a mentor at San Francisco’s UploadVR and Runway incubators, where his expertise and interests in virtual reality have been very useful. Additionally, Fred has created an equity crowdfunding platform for Sanovas, a medical device company, that has been used to raise over $40M so far.
Fred's educational background includes studies towards a PhD (candidate) at Union Institute, an MS degree from Antioch, and a BA degree also from Antioch University.
