Jill Shaw has spent over 16 years as DART's Emergency Preparedness Manager. Her role as the first manager in this position puts her at the forefront in developing, implementing, and administering extensive agency-wide preparedness and security programs. Her experience allows her to coordinate with local and regional planners during events such as storms like Hurricanes Harvey, Rita, and Katrina. Shaw has handled the activation of the Emergency Operations Center as its Director to coordinate activities between departments for events and incidents. In addition, she leads her section in conducting Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) studies of DART facilities, coordinating with TSA and FTA on transit security issues, and providing security awareness training for employees and passengers. She is a proud alumna from the United States Air Force Academy, where she studied Aeronautical Engineering, and the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, where she studied CFD, Aircraft Dynamics, and Hypersonics. Shaw is also a certified yoga instructor and hopes to bring this practice to the veteran community.
