Jason Poovey is an experienced leader in the field of data science and high-performance computing, with a focus on finance, healthcare, predictive maintenance, business forecasting, and risk modeling. Poovey currently serves as the VP of Data at Greenlight, leading a team of data analysts and scientists working on better ways to help parents teach kids about finances.

Poovey has an extensive educational background, having studied both computer engineering and electrical engineering at North Carolina State University, where he also worked as an adjunct lecturer. He has also taught as an adjunct instructor at Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Prior to joining Greenlight, Poovey was the Director of Data Science and Analytics at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, where he led the HPC and Data Analytics Branch. He has also worked as a research scientist at Georgia Tech, a software developer at athenahealth, and a graduate summer intern at Intel Corporation.

With strong technical skills in parallel computing, computer science, big data analytics, machine learning, and statistics, Poovey has built successful applied research programs in a variety of industries. He has also led programs focused on high-performance computing with novel computer architecture applied to streaming graph problems.
