From the psychology of our kids and technology to the surreptitious recording of our voices, from Alexa mimicking NASA heart monitors to the sociology of doorbell cameras, we're all only a few degrees of separation from one of the world's most influential companies. - Reported a landmark cold-case trial on genetic privacy in Everett, WA as part of newsroom coverage, which resulted in a submission to NPR's Story Lab competition.- Regularly rotated on KUOW's midday radio program "The Record," where I helped lead a special series on misinformation in the lead up to the 2020 election, among dozens of other segments.- Scored original music for ongoing the quarantine-themed magazine series "Voices of the Pandemic." - Responsibilities include: overseeing audio recording and collection, drafting scripts and promos, scoring original music for podcast and magazine stories, researching and pitching guests, and photography.

- As part of the Berlin Capital Program, spoke with media and government officials throughout Germany on the state of journalism and trans-Atlantic relations today. These included conversations with correspondents for the New York Times, Washington Post, and Reuters, as well as meetings with editors and reporters from German-based media companies Der Spiegel, ARD, and KCRW Berlin. - As a participant, functioned as an intrepid young journalist hoping to understand the relationship between Germany and the United States on issues such as immigration, political shifts domestically and in the European Union, climate change and the role of the journalists in the modern digital age.

- Played a production assistant role and worked on a team creating new pilot podcasts and special radio magazine series. These included a documentary story on volunteerism in Iraq with NPR's Rough Translation, country-wide callouts for items saved while fleeing violence abroad, and pilot episodes for a new podcast series, Louder than a Riot. - Responsibilities included: transcribing, scripting, producing interviews, cutting audio, researching potential guests and legal documents, conducting pre-interviews, and booking guests. Attendee at the intern-exclusive audio boot camp, an intensive three days with NPR experts across the organization to learn more about reporting and producing.

- Reported spot news and feature stories for brodcast and web. Pitched and produced features on possible solutions for students stranded in the United States as part of the travel ban and the severe lack of long-haul truckers in the US. Reported spot two national newscasts on the world's largest toga party and hazelnuts. - Responsibilities included writing scripts, reporting, pitching and producing stories, as well as a bi-weekly ethics case study. Recipient of excellence in ethics award for said studies; several reports were included as part of KLCC's 2018 Edward R. Murrow overall excellence award. Was a recipient of a first-place national award for Best Use of Sound from PRNDI.

- Reported radio stories crucial to constructive journalism and dedicated to understanding the complexities of conflict and attempts to build cultural dialogue through sensitive and careful reporting: these included observing the differences between opioid practices in Montreal and Oregon and preliminary work on a feature eventually aired on local NPR station KLCC. - Attended UNESCO World Press Freedom Day in Accra, Ghana, as part of the international Youth Newsroom, and as part of this cohort, reported a story on the safety of Afghan journalists.

Research Fellow

- As an English Archivist Intern, worked with a team of researchers and professors in developing a comprehensive history of the University of Oregon's English Department. This includeed research in the University of Oregon's Special Collections, a repository of old and original documents dating back to the university's founding, as well as oral interviews with previous students, faculty, and persons of importance to the history of the university. The internship concluded with the publishing of a comprehensive English History website, featuring written profiles of the department and the major storylines throughout different periods its time, and a pamphlet designed for alumni and future historians. - My archival work was featured as a profile in Oregon Quarterly's Fall 2018 issue on undergraduate research and he presented his story on World War II and Japanese internment to the fill English faculty at the end of my senior term.

As an editor, worked as producer, reporter and mentor for the rapidly expanding Emerald Podcast Network, a unique multimedia platform that distinguishes Oregon's Daily Emerald from other college newspapers. Worked with newspaper desks to field podcast pitches and, in many situations, gathered audio and reported for stories. Also instructed reporters unfamiliar with audio storytelling in proper recording techniques and in understanding sound design. Produced all episodes for the network during his tenure.

- Produced a pioneering new podcast series from the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon titled "1O1", which takes the teachings of UO's renown faculty and alumni and puts them in an exciting, quirky and easy-to-understand podcast. - This podcast is also a great cross-school multi-media collaboration on the University of Oregon campus and came from an experimental project in Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication.
