Gathering of Developers, an independent publisher of computer and video games, was co-founded by a core group of interactive entertainment industry veterans and five premiere game development studios in order to give developers the best possible publishing deals that included ample marketing and proper credit for their work.  Eventually the company was sold to Take2 Interactive but only after publishing many award-winning PC, Mac and console games.

TRI was one of the largest independent game developers in the United States.  They developed the first 3D game for Windows 95 (Terminal Velocity) which led to a publishing deal with Microsoft.  As one of the first indie studios of Microsoft Game Studios several high profile licensed products were developed using a proprietary game engine technology (Infernal Engine).  TRI eventually went on to become a founding partner of Gathering of Developers.
