Almas Sharif
Almas Sharif is a microbe-loving biochemist turned businesswoman with a talent for logistics and supply chain management. She recently helped take a biotech startup from incubation to its successful IPO. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from the prestigious University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
Sharif began her professional journey as a Research Assistant at the University of California, Davis. From there, she moved up in the ranks, holding various positions such as Pediatrics Emergency Room Intern, Treasurer & Founder of UC Davis Chapter at Global Brigades. Eventually, she found her niche as Logistics and Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing Agent at the biotech firm Berkeley Lights, Inc. There, she honed her skills in optimizing supply chain processes, negotiations, and quality control.
Sharif's real passion lies at the intersection of science and business, where she hopes to bridge the gap between advances in biotech and commercialization. She has a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, General, from UC Davis, which gives her a deep understanding of biology and chemistry. Sharif has proven time and time again to be a motivated team player, exercising leadership as the Coordinator of Research and Development at Berkeley Lights, Inc. and as a Group Exercise Instructor at UC Davis.
Throughout her journey, Sharif has acquired a diverse skill set that includes research, management, supply chain, logistics, and entrepreneurship. Her impressive education and professional experience are bound to yield even more success in the future.
