Jim Porter

Jim Porter is a highly skilled and experienced Senior Turf Consultant who has more than 35 years of experience in the horticultural and agricultural industry. He is passionate about natural turf sports surfaces and high-performance fields of play. Jim is an expert in various areas such as natural turf optimization, golf agronomy, project management, disease identification, turf trouble-shooting, construction supervision, vegetation management, and capital works programs.

Jim achieved his education from Melbourne Grammar and the University of Melbourne, where he studied Bachelor of Agricultural Science. He also studied RPL Assessor- Training and Train the Trainer at Holmesglen. Jim holds a Certificate in Recreational Turf Management, where he earned the title of DUX at Burnley College of Horticulture.

Jim has extensive experience in managing golf courses, including his tenure as Course Manager of The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, which is one of Australia's leading golf courses and has been ranked in the world's top 10 courses for many years now.

Jim is currently working as a Senior Turf Consultant at Endeavour Turf Professionals Pty Ltd (ETP-Turf), where he collaborates with golf courses, local governments, schools, and parks and recreational facilities. He closely works with clients to provide contemporary solutions and expert agronomic advice to enhance natural turf facilities into premium fields of play.
