I helped build a new version of the Market2day application so shoppers in the Boston, MA could pre-order amazing and fresh farmer's market goods directly from farmers themselves. Aidin is building software to empower the Healthcare community. I worked on their beta version of their post-care referral engine software. This technology connects hospitals to local providers with a modern web application that can still interface with legacy technology such as phone and fax machines. What's great about Aidin's software is it empowers the patient and the patient's family to choose the best skilled nursing facility or other post hospital care. Typically hospitals have a list of a few facilities and worse sometimes they partner with certain businesses only. This severely limits the quality of care a patients receives. Aidin's software is breaking this model and empowering the patient. I worked on parts of the software that give patients reviews and scores in various categories so they can make an informed choice. The software incentives quality care because it tracks a patients journey from the hospital to post-care to discharge. At each phase the patients profile is updated and all providers involved can quickly get an update on the health of the patient.

Founding member of the growth team. Our first focus was on implementing technical SEO on our 1600+ classes and 25K lessons. We improved on page SEO for these pages, increased server-side text rendering, and increased page performance. We implemented new features in our catalog taxonomy that allowed our SEO manager to make appropriate changes to course categories, topics, and collections.

I built and ran A/B experiments to increase purchase conversion. We focused on the bottom of the funnel first for some quick gains. In the mid-funnel stage on our catalog is where we had significant gains. We experimented with sorting, filtering, and ratings of classes with the hypothesis that this would give a student more confidence to find the right class. We used analytics platforms Mode + Indicative to measure the different experimental groups' actions. Once we had statistical significance + a good user experience we moved on to the next experiment!

This job was fun and I enjoyed the team I worked with. Ultimately our efforts were not enough and a majority of the company was laid off. This was such a learning experience. I still get emotional thinking about that day we found out and the weeks after. They were tough.

Designed and built rich notifications for our iOS application. These notifications remind our students that it's time to tune into their free live class. Worked with the production team and merchandising team to lead a technical project to incorporate promotional videos into rebroadcasted content. It involved stitching together multiple mp4 files from S3 and piping them through ffmpeg to a Ustream channel.

Worked with startups to build version one products from the ground up. Helping my clients succeed was my number one goal.
