Yvonne Otieno is a communications expert turned entrepreneur based in Kenya. Since founding her company in September 2014, she has been dedicated to working with smallholder farmers in Kenya to reduce food waste and produce high-quality goods for export to the EU. Her company has garnered several awards, including the Sinapis Business Plan Competition at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2014, Gender in Innovation in Agriculture Award 2016, Social Impact Award in Nairobi Innovation Week 2017, and Top 50 Innovators in Africa at the Africa Innovation Summit 2018. Yvonne's primary focus is on enhancing food security in Africa by minimizing food waste and empowering youth and women in agribusiness through her personal story sharing.

With a background in journalism and communication, Yvonne Otieno began her professional journey in media, working as a journalist on radio and newspapers for two years. Her passion for using communication to drive positive change led her to accumulate over 16 years of experience in international organizations as a development communication specialist. Yvonne is sought after by companies for short-term communication consultancy projects, which she gladly accepts if they align with her overarching goal of contributing to a better Africa. Currently, Yvonne Otieno serves as the Director at Miyonga Fresh Greens ENT and was formerly a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Commission on Education and Communication.
