Sameer Shah, a highly esteemed biomedical researcher with over 20 years of experience in bioengineering and cell biology, is a highly qualified Chief Scientist at DelNova, Inc. and former Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Bioengineering at UC San Diego, University of Maryland, College Park, and Fischell Department of Bioengineering. As a former Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellow at University of California, San Diego, Sameer has developed a cross-disciplinary, translational biomedical research program that investigates neuromuscular injury, disease, and repair. His program has been continuously funded by multiple federal agencies for over 10 years.

Sameer's scientific and medical expertise in cell, animal, and human models of injury and disease has allowed him to participate in numerous productive academic partnerships, develop successful relationships with partners in industry, engage in roles such as scientific advisory services, biomedical device design and testing, pre-clinical testing, and small business grant-writing, and continue to engage with the vibrant biomedical device and biotechnology community in Southern California.

Sameer holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego and a S.B. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
