World Summit Awards

Incitement aims to use the Liter of Light concept to 'light up' 50 villages by the end of 2016 - that's approximately 2500 families!

Liter of Light is a global open source movement aiming to provide ecologically sustainable and cost-free lighting for rural communities that have no access to electricity or light. The Liter of Light movement is currently in over 20 countries, and represented by Incitement in 2 (Malaysia and Italy).

Our goal is to completely eradicate energy poverty in Malaysia and provide the approximately 150.000 people living without access to lights in their villages with a sustainable solar-powered lighting solution to improve their lives for years to come.

Liter of Light is officially partnered with UNESCO and its 2015 theme 'Year of the Light'.

I work as a freelance trainer and facilitator for a number of global training institutions and education center mainly with diplomatic officers, government servants and young professionals.

I have conducted a handful trainings and facilitating modules to diplomats from Asia (Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, TImor Leste, Myanmar, The Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, China, Mongolia), Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Krygystan), Eastern Europe (Albania, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia), Africa (South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, Liberia, Senegal, Mali) and the Middle East and Gulf Countries (Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Egypt, Oman).

The main goal of my role for my modules to the new diplomatic force is to help and guide them in adopting a more innovative framework to their diplomatic role.

The Volunteering for International Professionals (VIP) Fellowship Programme is an initiative by the Malaysian government to create a large pool of talented professionals, who are passionate about sharing their expertise and experiences globally, as expert volunteers to contribute towards nation-building in ASEAN region.The VIP Programme is designed specifically for professionals on career breaks who wish to volunteer in South East Asia and contribute to building up the regional ecosystem of nonprofits to create more social impact. This four-month fellowship offers the opportunity for professionals to use their expertise in addressing ASEAN’s most pressing social issues. This programme aims to evoke long-term social change in the country. In order to ensure a successful programme, each volunteer is matched to a placement within a Host Organisation in a local community where his/ her expert knowledge will have the greatest impact.

I oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of an the ongoing VIP programme including planning, organising, staffing, recruiting, leading, and managing stakeholders expectation and KPI goals. My other responsibilities are as follows:

1. Initiate and set goals for VIP Programme according to the strategic objectives of the secretariat approved by the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia.
2. Plan the programmes from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes
3. Develop and approve budgets and operations
4. Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
5. Supervise the programme, project managers and the well-being and progress of VIP fellows
6. Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
7. Oversee recruitment of International and ASEAN candidates for the fellowship role
8. Mediate the expectation between the Ministry of Finance Malaysia and host organisations involved in the VIP Programme

The SME & Entrepreneurship Business Award Malaysia is an Annual Recognition Award programme that celebrates and recognise the excellence of Small Medium Businesses, Start-ups and Over-achieving businesses across Malaysia that has made a major impact to Malaysia's economy and has an international outreach to multiple regions worldwide.

My role and along with the other 4 Advisory Board Members is to facilitate in part of a process that is highly diverse and democratic award system, that selects and promotes Malaysia's best SME's, Companies and Entrepreneurs with impact to Malaysia economically.

Sitting on the Advisory Board for 2016/2017, this year we celebrate the achievements and impact made by individual entrepreneurs as well such as Tony Fernandez (AirAsia), Patrick Groove (Catcha Group), Raj Ridvan Singh (SOLS24/7), Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor (Celebrity turned Entrepreneur), Vishen Lakhiani (Mindvalley) and many more.

I initially started my role in Mindvalley by thinking critically in providing the best solution for customers who are facing multiple challenges their personal growth with Mindvalley products. At the same time, I take in the role as Project Manager for specific technology business projects as well. I initially grew my role and manage to create my own niche role for the business which was gathering feedback and reading trends from the thousands of emails we get from customers.

The most important niche role that I enjoyed doing and assigned to for the entire support and business team is crunching the number of customer emails into numbers - this enables the entire company to see the types of feedback we get from customers. Any significant number of a specific issue that can't be seen from the management, I would step in and red flag them. I'm able to read trends from the numbers crunched from all the 7000 weekly emails and with the formula that I managed to create myself, I'm also able to categorically record data which could be use for future version improvements of our product.

Apart from that, my other daily job scope varies as I solve day-to-day customer/clients concerns and issues. I analyze customers feedback and looking for the best solutions. Always engaging the customer community and manage blogs, Facebook fan pages and moderate online learning platform for valued customers. Spreading enlightenment to product users, guiding and counseling them on daily/weekly basis. I also build Online Media Library pages and standardize the quality control for contents, product development and other viable espionage of different businesses within the company.

I bring together key executives and niche players within the GRC space that provides solution services from companies such as SAP, CSC, Accenture, KPMG, Quadrant, etc., whom are able to highlight issues on Governance, Risk, and compliance (GRC) to potential Clients. I specialized in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Oriented Issues. Thus the Solution providers (Vendors) were recommended by the CIO's I was working with such as Daniel Lai, CIO of MRT Corporation and Avery Palos, the CIO of General Electric. We ensured in cutting time to market through bringing the relevant GRC solutions to the CIO's (Companies) that required them and cutting cost through a proven format that is very conducive for business, making it a very much CIO B2B driven platform.

I also bring in C - Level executives across cross vertical industries, to advance and disseminate knowledge, best practice, and innovation through Summits in Asia Pacific. I took the role on campus as a Radio DJ (English Department) with the University’s Internet Radio Station based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. I look after the scripts for each show, and quality assurance for each program by fellow radio DJ's within the English Department. Apart from being a Radio DJ, I was also responsible in strategy planning for the Radio Station as it gained reputation, compliments and recognition from local and international radio station (Redhot.fm, Fly.fm, Mix.fm and Traxx.fm) within the South-East Asian region. Towards the last 2 years, I was appointed as an advisor for the English Department. The Radio station also brings listeners a diverse of alternative entertainment, infotainment and edutainment in 4 different languages in English, Bahasa Malaya, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
