Mike Buchanan is an experienced educational leader, coach, and mentor who has been working with school leaders for over a decade. He is the Founder of Positively Leading, a bespoke coaching consultancy that helps individuals to discover and amplify their strengths, leading to improved well-being and performance. Mike has also held leadership positions in various educational institutions, including Executive Director of HMC, the oldest association of Head Teachers in the English-speaking world, and Head of Ashford School, a thriving all-age, co-educational day/boarding, independent school. He has experience in secondary education, all-through schools, and boarding, and helped establish three state-funded schools in London and Kent. His interests include organizational culture and climate, leadership, character development, and the role of independent schools in the worldwide educational landscape. Mike is also an Associate Coach for LSC Education and a contributor to the degree programs of the National College of Education. He is a qualified Executive Coach and a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching.
