Joseph Makokha is an accomplished researcher, engineer, and educator based in the Bay Area. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, where he researched AI and machine learning models for high-performing teams. With a passion for human-centered design, Dr. Makokha has experience in UI/UX research and design, rapid prototyping, and technologies in mobile, web, and digital information resources.

Before earning his doctoral degree, Dr. Makokha studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering at University of Nairobi and earned a Master of Arts in Urban Education and a Master of Arts in Education, Learning, Design & Technology from Stanford University.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Makokha has built an impressive professional portfolio. His work experience includes entrepreneurship, academic technology specialist at Stanford University, and founder of various tech-focused ventures, such as JUZR, WeMake Silicon Valley, and Technology & Security Solutions LLC.

Dr. Makokha's research interests lie in the intersection of AI, engineering design, and education. He is a teaching and research post-doctoral fellow at the University of Oslo, where he continues to explore the latest developments in AI and machine learning to improve educational outcomes. On the side, he enjoys connecting kids with STEM experiences and bringing out the creativity in others.
