- Assisted in the successful migration of data/ETL from Cloudera to AWS - $200,000 in annual licensing fees redistributed.

Responsible for performing teaching and teaching related duties that assist faculty members, professors and department heads and other faculty. Proctor exams, grade tests and homework, and record grades in grade book. Challenge is to understand each student’s initial learning capability and progress from there instead of directly telling them what to do.

In charge of designing, planning and conducting workshops for ESL students at South Dakota State twice a week. Working mostly with small groups, the biggest challenge is to get the students to comfortably engage in active discussion in English. By learning the respective students' background - their history, culture and traditions - made it easier for me to relate to them. Also, my role was to facilitate the discussion and not take charge - a challenge I found resolvable by allowing students to take the lead while I channeled the discussion to gain positive learning outcomes.

Before starting the trip, I used my creative writing skills to come up with the mission statement,  letters to potential sponsors and other writing content for the website. On the road, the most difficult part was to sit down and put the stories and thoughts together after 8-10 hours of riding. But I realized that the flow was much better because I had so much emotion invested into it.

As a representative of the College of Engineering, I had to keep in mind the wants and needs of the specific college as well as the entire student body of approximately 13,000 students. The work through small task forces that included faculty and staff was more profound. We helped initiate the English as a Second Language program at SDSU, that I am now a part of. Also, Diversity and Inclusion was integral to me and so I helped make the climate surveys that were essential in getting the students as well as faculty and staff perspective of what the school could improve on.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching math to college students because not only did it help me keep my math foundation in check, it helped develop patience. The hardest part was to keep in mind that every student had different learning capabilities and figuring that out was my initial task. Knowing what sort of a learner they were helped me decide where I would begin to explain the problem to them. I helped students ranging in classes from College Algebra to Calculus II as well as Statistics and Probability.
