Sean Commons

Sean Commons is a highly experienced attorney and a partner in the litigation practice at Sidley Austin LLP's Los Angeles office. With over 15 years of experience, Sean specializes in complex litigations, including class actions and qui tam claims. He has successfully represented clients in various industries, including the automotive, banking, consumer electronics, insurance, food supplement, food product, pharmaceutical, software, and defense industries. Sean is an expert in class actions, mass actions, and coordinated proceedings brought under state and federal consumer protection, unfair business practices, and usury statutes, such as the UCL, CLRA, EFTA, FCRA, FDCPA, "Holder Rule," RICO, and TCPA. Furthermore, Sean has handled individual arbitrations, advised clients on document retention policies, and assisted clients with implementing individual arbitration, forum selection, and choice-of-law provisions in consumer contracts. Sean has an impressive educational background, as he holds a B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of California - Berkeley and a J.D., Order of the Coif, Law Alumni Award from USC Gould School of Law, where he served on Law Review.
