General Manager & Head of Industry Relationships (Co-Founder) | Concurrent role with DefTech Pty Ltd

Direct Reports - 3 | Reports to Stakeholders/Sponsors/Guests/Speakers

- Provide strategic and operational oversight on all aspects of the enterprise, to effectively plan and execute WIDT’s events.
-Develop an organisational and event strategy.
- Build government engagement and wider industry relationships across Local, State and Federal Government.
-Establish and maintain relationships with elected officials, their office staff, diary secretaries, uniformed and non-uniformed staff members, personal protection personnel, news media and communications departments.
-Liaise with communication and branding representatives to carefully manage the media interests of stakeholders, particularly sponsors and dignitaries.
-Secure private sponsorship to meet budget requirements (from initial contact to contract).
-Invite speakers and specialist guests including senior local, state, and federal elected officials (Ministers and Shadow/Assistant Ministers of Defence, Prime Minister’s Official Representatives (delegated Ministers), Chief’s of staff, Foreign Ambassadors and CEO’s from within well recognised companies.
-Assess venues for event suitability and manage event contracts and negotiate pricing.
-Manage core deadlines to ensure crucial dates are widely accessible to relevant parties, and subsequently met.
-Correspond between departments in the leadup to, and during events (IT, Filming, Media, Food and Beverage, MC.)
-Manage formal and informal correspondence with stakeholders and provide government correspondence for the development of ministerial visit briefings.
