AMC's Legal Research Support Department handles the contracting of research projects at the AMC that are funded by third parties, thus safeguarding their continuity and independence. I am responsible for writing, reviewing and negotiating clinical trial and other research related agreements, and for the handling of all research related legal issues.

Medical research involving human subjects in the Netherlands must in most cases undergo a medical ethics review. Protection of research subjects is the most important aspect of this review. Reviews are carried out by accredited Medical Research Ethics Committees (METC's). As legal specialist, I am responsible for the review of the trial documents on certain legal aspects.

Malaria No More!  is a charitable organization whose mission is to actively contribute to the prevention and treatment of malaria. To this end, the charity works closely with its sister organizations in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. One of Malaria No More!’s goals is to increase awareness in the Netherlands about the scope of the disease and the impact it has on individual Africans and local economies.
