The Grant Writer is responsible for all areas of grant proposal development: identifying needs; identifying funding sources; developing proposals; providing technical support for proposal development; providing training for proposal development; maintaining grant-related recordkeeping and conducting grant-related research. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

The Grant Research Analyst provides support to the Director and the Resource Development Department with all aspects of grant and award application processing.

-  Identifies eligible grant funding opportunities for the College for review and approval
-  Researches and disseminates information obtained from various sources such as documents, internet, and databases, to support grant proposal development
-  Researches and circulates grant program priorities and relevant data
-  Provides information about private, local, state and federal grant funding opportunities
-  Edits and revises grant proposals
-  Submits grant proposals online and hard copy
-  Develops technical documents which may include forms and basic grant proposals
-  Assists in the Board item preparation process
-  Participates in local, state, regional and national workshops, conferences and meetings
-  Communicates with funding agencies for questions and reviewer's comments requests
-  Captures, assembles and preserves records of all activities and achievements

Grant Research Analyst

Grant Research and Writing. Establishing sustainability strategies for the continuation of the grant program. Assists students in the course registration process. Creates and maintains agreement for services with vendors. Prepares budget reports and reimbursements. Prepares payroll for part-time and full-time staff, as needed. Prepares department requisitions, disbursements, and duplication requests. Assists the manager or coordinator with term class schedule, evaluations and contracts.

As grant writer, helped to raise over $1.5 Million for Neighbors and Neighbors Association through a combination of grants. Completed reporting to all awarding agencies on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Responsible for compiling all metrics related to program statistics which includes numbers of members, expenditures of the programs and reports of organizational statistics for the public and governmental agencies. Conducted workshops and seminars to educate the local, small businesses in the Miami-Dade County area on grant and Technical Assistance opportunities for their businesses. Assisted in managing the Façade Rehabilitation Programs administered with the Community Rehabilitation Agency. Helped raise over $200,000 for this program and helped the Project Director administer the rehab work of over 14 businesses. Served as liaison for the host municipality and the private sector, and actively participated in the many events related to commercial networking through the community such as workshops, canvassing of neighborhoods, social media outreach, etc. Act as a liaison between Miami-Dade County commissioners, OCED, the Office of Grants Coordination and grant recipients.
