He has a diverse background, having co-founded By-Products Interactive and founded Benchmark Solutions, a supply chain consulting company. He started his career with Arthur Andersen in Chicago, Illinois, and has since become one of Florida's most active angel investors.

He currently resides in Naples, Florida, where he is an active member of First Baptist Church of Naples, a softball coach, and a soccer coach.
