Eric Gustafson
Eric Gustafson is a seasoned and accomplished program officer with a strong passion for community development and affordable housing. With over 12 years of experience in the field, Eric's work is focused on ensuring safe, healthy, and affordable homes for renter communities. He collaborates with local stakeholders, housing industry professionals, and policymakers to achieve this goal.
Before joining Family Housing Fund, Eric worked in architectural design and engineering for five years. Afterward, he took up various roles in community development, including serving as an executive director and neighborhood organizer. Eric has contributed to achieving policy outcomes and improving the quality of life in affordable housing, land use and transportation, local food systems, and economic development. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University and a Master of Public Affairs from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
As a Program Officer at the Family Housing Fund, Eric collaborates on efforts to improve housing equity, broaden access to rental subsidies, and develop fair tenant selection systems. Eric has also held other roles such as Neighborhood and Community Engagement Commissioner, Interim Policy Aide, Outreach Consultant, Assistant Director, and Architectural Specifier in various organizations. His professional experience, expertise, and interests lie in community development, affordable housing, land use planning, and public policy.
