Don Pinto is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in various domains such as operating systems, databases (both relational and NoSQL), cloud computing, ad-targeting, web-scale distributed systems, games, and mobile computing. In terms of education, he completed B.A.Sc in Computer Engineering and went on to study M.S in Computer Science from the University of Toronto. Also, he has earned a certification in Project Management from the Project Management Institute.

In his professional career, Don has held leadership roles in various organizations, including Red Hat, Index Exchange, Couchbase, and Gridcentric, where he made outstanding contributions to their growth and success. He is adept in product management, marketing, and sales and has helped organizations in their product launches, go-to-market strategies for new products, and pricing strategies.

Don began his career as a Junior Software Developer in the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and subsequently worked as a software developer at Honeywell and as a .Net Software Developer at the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Later he went on to work at IBM as a Software Engineer, where he worked with DB2 LUW. He also worked as a Program Manager - SQL Server and SQL Azure at Microsoft, where he managed the development of SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.

Don has a keen interest in research and has been associated with Harvard University's Berkman Center of Internet and Society. He has published several research papers and articles on different subjects, including cloud computing, databases, and web applications.
