Derek George

Derek George is a highly educated individual with a Master of Advanced Studies in Development and Cooperation from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, where he ranked among the top 10% of students.

Derek has held several key roles in prominent organizations, including serving as the Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Serbia for SECO Economic Cooperation and Development and the SDC Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Previously, he was the Deputy Director of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and held various positions at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, including Programme Officer in Agriculture and Private Sector Development, Programme Manager in Bangladesh focusing on Employment and Income, and Project Officer in the Cotton Sector with a monitoring and evaluation role.

Derek George also has experience working as an Assistant to the Ambassador at the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Development Cooperation and as an Assistant UN Correspondent at The Yomiuri Shimbun.

His diverse background in development cooperation, international relations, and project management has equipped Derek with a wealth of skills and expertise in areas such as economic development, cooperation, agriculture, private sector development, employment, income generation, and monitoring and evaluation.
