Elwy Taymour
Elwy Taymour is an accomplished financial executive with global experience across several continents. He is the founder and managing partner of Pharos Holding for Financial Investments, a leading investment bank specializing in securities brokerage, research, asset management, and investment banking. With a degree in industrial engineering from The American University in Cairo and an MBA in corporate finance from New York University - Leonard N. Stern School of Business, Taymour has spent over two decades in the finance industry.
Prior to founding Pharos, Taymour held various executive positions at prestigious companies in London and New York. He was a Vice President at EFG-Hermes and a member of the firm's board of directors, responsible for securities brokerage. He then moved to London and joined Merrill Lynch's Investment Banking division before becoming Vice President of Sales at Auerbach Grayson & Co., where he was responsible for selling and marketing the Egyptian and Middle Eastern stock markets.
Taymour also founded ArabFinance.com, an online trading site, and served as its Managing Director. He later became the Chief Financial Officer of LINKdotNET, a regional digital publishing, and IT conglomerate, where he oversaw the company's legal, financial, and logistical operations, as well as its expansion plans and restructuring in preparation for an IPO.
Taymour is now the Chairman of Kashat, Pharos' microfinance arm, and has been recognized as a leading figure in the finance industry in Egypt and beyond. His experience and track record in building successful financial institutions have made him a sought-after speaker and commentator on finance-related topics.
