Varun holds a Masters in Human Resources Management and Services from XLRI Jamshedpur, a BA Hons in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, and a number of courses on Business, Organizational Behavior Studies and Corporate Finance from Stanford Continuing Studies, Harvard Extension School, and London Business School.

Varun has left his positive marks in companies such as Reali, AirAsia, Levi Strauss & Co, Kraft Foods Group, Procter & Gamble, The Gillette Company, and Tata Consultancy Services. He is currently working as the Chief People Officer at Reali, but has served as Chief People & Culture Officer at AirAsia, SVP & CHRO at Levi Strauss & Co, VP Human Resources, Asia Pacific at Kraft Foods Group, and VP Human Resources at Procter & Gamble. He has additionally held board member positions and advisory boards roles in companies and taught courses in institutions such as UC Berkeley Extension.
