James Mahon is a highly experienced machine vision engineer with expertise in illumination, optics, machine vision software, and machine learning. With a strong background in automated inspection, he has designed s/w and optics for various Surface Mount PCB Automated Optical Inspection machines for MVT and Agilent Technologies. Mahon has been working in automated inspection since 1985, first for his Masters, then his PhD at Trinity College Dublin, where he also studied BA BAI, Engineering, and MSc in Computer Vision. He founded MVT of which he was a technical director and was subsequently acquired by Agilent Technologies as CTO (IIO). He has also held technical director roles in other companies where he designed underwater imaging systems and tire inspection and road marking inspection. Mahon is currently CTO at Reflective Measurement Systems, where he designs road marking and marker inspection systems.
