Marco Aurelio Costa Pereira de Jesus is a seasoned financial expert in Brazil, with over 20 years of experience in financial markets, and a decade of experience working with non-performing loans (NPLs) and alternative assets in Brazil. Among his noteworthy achievements is leading and being involved in the negotiation of some of the largest and most complex NPL deals in Brazil, always from the creditor's side.

Currently, since 2014, Marco Aurelio holds the position of Head of Special Assets at Banco Votorantim in Brazil, where he is in charge of managing the bank's portfolio of around USD 3 billion in corporate NPLs and real estate-owned (REOs). At Banco Votorantim, he's also leading a project to carve-out both the bank's servicing unit and NPL portfolio.

Marco Aurelio's education is equally impressive, as he has completed a PLD15 program for leadership development at Harvard Business School, an MBA in agribusiness, a strategic negotiation program, and a negotiation and competitive decision-making program, among many other courses.

Besides his current role at Banco Votorantim, Marco Aurelio has held senior positions in various Brazilian banks, including Itau BBA, Unibanco, Banco Safra, and Banco Itau. He began his career as a trainee at Banco Itau and gradually evolved into a Gerente Corporate Senior.
