As Program Manager I was responsible for the operational success of the accelerator. This includes sourcing and selecting companies; recruiting mentors; hiring and managing a team of Associates; planning and executing the three-month accelerator and demo day; and supporting the portfolio companies.

Areas of strength:
-  Investment analysis and fundraising - evaluate investment opportunities of 1000+ early-stage startups and support portfolio companies to raise capital
-  Project management - execute best practices to run a worldclass Accelerator while improving key operational processes (average NPS of 70 from founders, mentors, associates and partners)
-  Leadership - hiring, training, managing ten international associates
-  Corporate innovation - consulting two global industry-leading corporate partners to engage key stakeholders across the organization (100+ mentors) and work with innovative technology startups (20+ pilots and POCs)

As Associate, I drove business development for 9 companies by establishing use cases, implementing concept testing, developing sales channels and setting KPIs.

B2B Pay is a FinTech startup providing a unique payment solution to exporters to Europe.

B2B Pay supplies non-European businesses with IBANs in Finland to be able to collect payment from their customers in Europe for free. This solves a number of problems in terms of bureaucracy, speed of payment, and we save them 2-5% per transaction by transferring money back to their home country in local currency for a flat fee of 1%. B2B Pay is making exporting more accessible and profitable for SMEs around the world.

Having previously worked for an early-stage Canadian startup doing the majority of its business in the US, I immediately understood the problem B2B Pay was solving and was excited to be a short-term part of this team.

Finance Associate

As the CEO's right-hand-woman, I had extensive exposure to her daily projects in the early stages of a start-up. This experience is what first interested me in operations and finance and has driven my passion towards the fields of startup incubation and VC. In 2015, my work at DeeBee's was focused largely on the company's first financing round.


Key tasks included:
- Collecting information on potential angel, corporate and VC investors
- Producing and disseminating the materials such as reports, investor presentations, online profiles, legal documents
- Corresponding with advisors, legal counsel, government organizations and accountants to ensure best practices and accuracy of all materials
- Working closely with legal counsel to develop an Employee Stock Option Plan and to formalize the corporate structure
- Building and delivering investor presentations with the CEO for several local and international parties
- Conduct market analysis and produce reports on competitors for upper management to use to develop strategy
- Representing the company at local and international trade shows such as Taste of Canada Expo 2015

- Managing customer relations; including being the company's first contact for customers, processing orders, creating formal written company procedure for all customer relations, and ensuring the highest quality of customer support throughout

- Representing the company at international tradeshows
- Anticipating and satisfying administrative needs of the office including bank deposits, scheduling, maintaining supplies, etc
