John Rothfield is a highly accomplished Investment Director with vast experience in the finance industry. Mr. Rothfield leads the Research and Strategy Investment team for the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), where he oversees global macroeconomics, cross-asset investment strategies, and manages internal and external resources. John holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Commerce and Economics degree from the University of New South Wales.

Before joining CalPERS, John held several executive roles at Bank of America and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, including Head of Fixed Income Research Marketing, Chief Economist, and FX Strategist and Economist. John also worked at First Chicago Bank and the Australian Treasury as an Economist.

John is a recognized expert in finance, and his wide-ranging experience and expertise in investment management and analysis make him a valuable asset to CalPERS.
